JOB SUMMARY

Reports to Radiology Director

Works closely with Radiology staff, patients, medical staff, and families as well as other depts.

Operates radiologic equipment to make clinical diagnostic radiographs as directed by physicians and performs diagnostic procedures according to established standards and practices.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Training in Ultrasound Graduation from an Ultrasound school preferred but not required. Licensure and Certifications

Certification in at least 1 ultrasound preferred, but no required Experience

Knowledge of current trends and techniques in Echocardiograms and vascular ultrasound

 POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Operates Ultrasound equipment, Cidex OPA cleaning Station and Gel Warmer

2. Operates PACS and Hospital information system

3. Demonstrates proper patient preps for procedures

4. Explains procedure to patient

5. Provides history and reason for examine

6. Maintains CPR requirements

7. Responsible for patient safety

8. Adheres to Joint Commission Safety Goals

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

Physical

Bending /stooping with lifting a maximum of 200 lbs

Carrying a maximum of 50 lbs.

With pushing a maximum of 400lbs.

Twisting, turning, walking, standing and reaching.

Exposure to Chemicals, blood-borne pathogens.

Occasionally body protection is necessary for Isolation patients and radiation exposure.

Health

Constant exposure to chemicals and with blood-borne pathogens, working with and around people.

Often using detergents, exposure to mechanical hazards and moving objects.

Working alone.

Sometimes exposed to acids, allergens, burns and temperature changes.

Rarely in contact with extreme heat or cold, humidity or wetness.

Often eye, arm, hands, finger and body protection is necessary.

Sometimes respirator breathing equipment is necessary.

Schedule: Full Time, Days
