Pharmacy Tech Trainee

Under the direct supervision of the Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacists, the pharmacy technician trainee are continuously and directly responsible for providing accurate and prompt assistance filling and stocking automated dispensing machines, performing clerical duties, and maintaining medication inventory throughout the hospital. The pharmacy technician is responsible for successful completion of all assigned education credits and passage of the National Pharmacy Technician Certification.  

• Education
  • High school graduate. 
  • Pharmacy technician technical school experience is preferred, but not required
• Licensure and Certifications
  • Trainee program includes 125 hours of required education and successful passage of the West Virginia Pharmacy Technician License and/or National Pharmacy Technician Certification.
• Experience
  • Completion of the trainee program requires a minimum of 500 hours of on the job training.
