With a patient centered culture, the Sterile Processing Technician will provide a positive experience to patients through cleaning, disinfecting, and sterilizing medical supplies via the use of steam, gas, or chemicals The processing technician prepares treatment and procedure trays, wraps medical devices, and prepares surgical case carts. The Sterile Processing Technician maintains the sterile supply storage area and is responsible for receiving and distributing departmental supplies.
Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent; or higher college degree completed. Currently enrolled or completion of Central Service/Sterile Processing/Surgical Technician course or 1-2 years of Sterile Processing/OR experience or completed an online or self-study program and obtained certification.
Experience
Experience in a sterile processing area or operating room preferred. Demonstrated ability to utilize aseptic and sterile techniques normally acquired through previous work experience or formal course work/training.
Certifications/Licensures
Central Service or Certified Surgical Tech certification required
Physical Requirements
Heavy Work
Exerting up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 50 lbs. of force frequently and/or in excess of 20 lbs. of force constantly.
Location: Mon Health Medical Center · STERILE PROCESSING
Schedule: Full Time, Evenings, 3pm-11:30pm
