RN - 5 South Surgical

The 5S Surgical Unit at Mon Health Medical Center is a primary post-op care for a variety of surgical patients.  Staff consists of RNs, Clinical Assistants, Unit Clerks, Clinical Managers and Charge Nurses. Nursing roles facilitate interdisciplinary care, practice and perfect a variety of skills including: IV therapy, wound care, nursing judgment in relation to pain control, administering blood products, performing 12 lead EKGs, blood draws, coordinating with care management for discharge needs, fast-paced, quick patient turnover. Clinical Assistants perform frequent vital signs, perform 12 lead EKGs, transportation of patients, assisting with activities of daily living, bathing, and ambulation. Shifts consist of 12 hours including day/night/rotating and weekend.

As a RN at Mon Health you will coordinate total patient centered care ensuring optimal service to the communities we serve.

 Education Requirements:

Incumbent must be a graduate of school of nursing.

Experience Requirements:

Effective interpersonal communication skills in order to effectively collaborate with physicians, and instruct patients and their families.

Certifications/ Licensure Requirements:

Must possess licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in WV. Must possess BLS certification within probationary period.

Heavy Work

May exert up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 50 lbs. of force frequently and/or in excess of 20 lbs. of force constantly.
