Patient Care Technician

They have great interpersonal skills and ability to create a supportive environment. Patient care technicians will be responsible for direct patient care and can be assigned as a patient sitter as needed.
The goal of a patient care tech is to keep the patient safe and assist them with activities of daily living. An effective Patient Care Technician should have patience, empathy, and intuition to serve their patients best. They utilize therapeutic communication, organizational skills, and have a commitment to safety. Patient Care Technicians work alongside the registered nurse and clinical assistance while providing care for the patients and report to the nursing manager of the float pool.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High School Graduate
Experience: Knowledge of patient assistance and care procedures, prefer knowledge of relevant equipment (catheters, drains, assistance devices, etc.), Committed to health and safety standards
Licensure/Certification: CPR certified preferred or will be obtained upon hire
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
Light Work: Frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 lbs. with a maximum lifting of 25 lbs.
Location: Mon Health Medical Center · NURSING FLOAT
Schedule: PRN, Nights
