Nurse Practitioner OR Physician Assistant - Rheumatology - Morgantown

The Advanced Practice Professional (APP) shall provide comprehensive management of patients within his/her specialty and according to privileges approved by the Medical Staff Office.  The APP has responsibility, authority and accountability for the provision of care through supervision by and collaboration with a physician.  The APP manages and provides patient care activities for a group of patients and their families through the application of independent judgment, communication and collaboration with all team members.  The APP establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with physicians, other health care providers, patients and their families, to achieve desired patient outcomes throughout the continuum of care.  The APP shall work under the supervision of a physician.

Minimum Education Requirement: A graduate of a masters prepared Nurse Practitioner program; Certified by either the ANCC or AANP board OR graduate of an accreditation review commission on the Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) approved Physician Assistant training program. 

Minimum Experience Requirement: Previous advanced practice experience strongly preferred. 

Minimum License Requirement: Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner from the West Virginia Board of Nursing OR current license as a Physician Assistant by the WV Board of Medicine with a certification by the National Commission for Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).  Must be credentialed according to Mon Health's Medical Staff By-Laws and appointed as Allied Health Professional Affiliate Staff.  Must possess or obtain basic life support (BLS) certification within the probationary period and maintain certification.  Must possess or obtain advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) within one year of employment start and maintain certification.

Physical Requirements and Environmental Conditions:Heavy Work; Frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 lbs. with a maximum lifting of 100 lbs.


Location: Mon Health Medical Center · Mon Health Rheumatology
Schedule: Full Time, Days, Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm
