Nurse Practitioner OR Physician Assistant- Hospitalist - Morgantown

This Advanced Practice Professional is responsible for the comprehensive care of our in-patient patients per established clinical protocols. Follows and directs evidenced based practices as established within the Hospital service line. Evaluates, assesses, and coordinates the individual treatment plan with the clinical team as necessary to assure an appropriate continuum of care.  Works in collaboration and is a liaison between patients, families, consulting physicians, health care services and community service providers. Manages the collection, analysis and reporting of patient data and develops plan of care.  The advanced practice professional works under the supervision of the physician.

Minimum Education Requirement: A graduate of a masters prepared Nurse Practitioner program; Certified by either the ANCC or AANP board OR graduate of an accreditation review commission on the Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) approved Physician Assistant training program. 

Minimum Experience Requirement: Previous in-patient or hospitalist experience strongly preferred. 

Minimum License Requirement: Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner from the West Virginia Board of Nursing OR current license as a Physician Assistant by the WV Board of Medicine with a certification by the National Commission for Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).  Must be credentialed according to Mon Health's Medical Staff By-Laws and appointed as Allied Health Professional Affiliate Staff.  Must possess or obtain basic life support (BLS) certification within the probationary period and maintain certification.  Must possess or obtain advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) within one year of employment start and maintain certification.

Physical Requirements and Environmental Conditions:  Heavy Work; Frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 lbs. with a maximum lifting of 100 lbs
