POSITION SUMMARY
The Registered Nurse provides general nursing care to patients in hospital or similar healthcare facility by performing the following duties, in compliance with hospital standards of maintaining confidentiality, integrity, quality care and professionalism.Registered nurses may have choice of department or specialty area.Some areas RNs can specialize include but are not limited to: Emergency; Intensive care; Operating room; Post surgery; Cardiovascular; Pediatrics; Geriatrics and Skilled.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
oIncumbent must be a graduate of school of nursing.
oPreferred: Bachelor's Degree
oCurrent West Virginia license.
oMust possess BLS certification within probationary period.
oMust obtain Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support within
one year.
oFor OR Nurses, the following are required:
-ºCompletion of Periop 101 AORN course within one year.
EXPERIENCE
oEffective interpersonal communication skills in order to effectively collaborate with physicians and
instruct patients and their families.
Location: Preston Memorial Hospital · Operating Room
Schedule: Full Time, Days, 0700-1500
